Channel news
Hello from Signal & Byte
What this channel is for, how we check a story before it goes out, and how to reach us.
Welcome to Signal & Byte, and to our new home on the web: signalandbyte.com.
The name is the method. The signal is what happened: the news itself. The byte is how it actually works: the mechanism underneath, explained so it clicks. Most tech coverage stops at the signal. We try to finish the job.
What you'll find here
- Videos on YouTube: one story at a time, broken down and cross-examined, plus Shorts when you have less than a minute.
- Articles: the written version of each story, with every source linked, so you can read at your own pace and check our work.
- This blog: news about the channel, and notes on how we report.
How we check a story
We go to the source first: the research paper, the lab's own post, the filing, the changelog or the documentation. Then we look for the strongest argument against our conclusion and put it on screen before we decide. Numbers only appear when they carry the story. And every source we used is listed, under the video and at the end of each article.
When the evidence is thin, we say so. When we only have a company's own account of what happened, we say that too.
If we get something wrong
Tell us at hello@signalandbyte.com, with the video or article and what's wrong. If we were wrong, we'll correct it publicly.
